Rancid shrimp. Expectation and reality акрил на бумаге Painting with acrylic Contemporary art Greece 2022
Once I bought shrimp in the store. The expectation of taste and aroma so clouded my brain that I could not think of anything other than the taste of shrimp. All shrimp were rotten. When I tore off the head of one of them, the rotten insides splashed onto my hands, clothes, face. I silently stood in a pause, sensing a rotten smell. A huge black round dot which is the eye of a shrimp reflected the recent life and looked at me. Immediately I took up acrylic and conveyed my feeling along with the splashes. Expectation and reality. So often in life we expect and build illusions of one thing and get a different result. The viewer can see reality in the picture. Situations and surrounding people in life are similar to rottenness like in a shrimp, and we expect, we build an erroneous idea. We idealize having past positive experience. But in reality, everything may not be as expected, but ... a rotten shrimp.
