Saxophone Canvas Acrylic on canvas Abstract art Russia 2020
This is a unique piece, a park of a series “The Dark Side”, which explores the relationship of light and shadow. All of the pieces done on top of a black canvas, where a white pencil is used to illuminate select portions of the subjects. The use of dark space creates a special atmosphere and an alluring sense of depth and misery.
This piece is the only drawing in the collection that is done using coloured pencils rather than white, as it gives of the emotions that I’ve been going through while drawing. In fact the piece was done while listening to songs by the famous saxophonist Charlie Parker, a legend in the world of Jazz.
