African women Farmers Canvas Oil paint Expressionism 1996
One of my earlier works, featured in my first personal exibition-"THE RETURN" in 1996 in Almaty Kazakhstan, You see, I spent my early childhood in my African Village, During the Nigerian civil war of 1967. My mother like every other mother trapped in the village would leave my little brother with me alone at home. I would spend grueling hot hours under tree shades and neighbor tents, waiting eagerly for evening to come. As the sun began to set, I would watch the army of village women returning home, twerking their bodies as if on the podium of some Dior or Chanel pret-a-porte.
