Village farm figures Canvas Oil paint Expressionism Landscape painting 2015
Inspired by african females returning from the farm in my childhood days, in my village in the souh eastern part of Nigeria, during the Nigerian civil war. Forced to spend 2 and a half years in the village away from our father who was in the then capital Lagos, the constant sight of mothers returning from farmlands has remained a strong source of inspiration, enabling me to expressively play with colours centering on the images of women with headloads walking graciously home to be met by anxious kids waiting at their respective village huts.
