Alexander M. Kishchenko (1933— 1997) — Belarusian Soviet muralist.
Alexander Kishchenko is one of the most famous Belarusian artists of the twentieth century, whose works have enriched the Treasury of national art, became the property of Russian culture.
The author of hundreds of works in the genre of easel and monumental art, artist, virtuoso, master of philosophical paintings, portrait painter, muralist, also perfectly mastered the technique of mosaics, ceramics and tapestry.
His work is characteristic of a wide genre and thematic range, deep philosophical reinterpretation of reality, civilization, an acute sense of modernity, a characteristic of emotional-expressive plastic solution.
Since 1961 — member of competitions and art exhibitions.
From 1963 to 1970, he taught painting and composition at the Department of monumental-decorative art of the Belarusian theatre and art Institute in Minsk. At the same time actively engaged in creative work and the organization of tapestry production in the Byelorussian SSR. The author of the giant "tapestry of the century", listed in "the Guinness Book of records," woven of wool, size 14 x 19 meters and weighing about 270 kg.
