An outstanding example of Russian landscape painting of the second half of the 19th century, executed by the artist A. Konstantinova. The painting depicts a tranquil pond surrounded by dense firs and deciduous trees reflected in the still surface of the water at sunset. The composition is built with rare harmony and a deep understanding of atmospheric perspective: the mist on the horizon enhances the depth, while golden reflections on the water create an atmosphere of peace and contemplation. In the lower right corner, the artist’s signature in Cyrillic is visible: “A.
