Semyon Fedorov (1867-1910). Landscape Summer day. Subtly conveys the atmosphere of a hot summer day, where the warm, Russian sun shines along the banks of the river with the aromas of herbs and the songs of larks. Time has stopped, thanks to the stone and sedge bush - the static scenes of the foreground. Behind them, the distance of a calm river unfolds with a light swell of blown wind. A shepherd and his flock are resting on the shore near a tree. But the semantic diagonal runs tangentially from the boulder on the left to the tree and to the church in the distance. This is a kind of marker of the inviolability, spaciousness, difficult happiness of Holy Rus`, where the sweet sadness of life comes with the mobility of the sky. Canvas dimensions: 62.5x97 cm.
