Vase with bees from Sabino France Glass Mid-20th century
A spherical vase made of frosted glass with embossed flowers and bees flying towards them against the background of a geometric one-hundredth pattern. It embodies in itself both in material and in form and, in principle, pure Art Deco. A special charm lies in the disappearing diagonal-geometric weaving of the background and the transparent belt of the neck, shading the matte ball of the vase. The non-intrusive motif of fragrant flowers and curly bees conveys the all-enveloping atmosphere of summer bliss. S abino France. H-18cm. Marius Ernest Sabino is a French master glassblower of Italian origin. From 1914 he kept his factory and shop in Paris. He became famous for the molding of opal glass during the Art Deco period.
