CASE: the 'phase III' case with foliate-tied faceted handle, pierced mounts to the cushion-moulded top, glazed sides and rear door, the front with pierced silk-backed sound fret and cherub head escutcheons;
DIAL: the 61/2 inch brass dial with winged cherub head spandrels, the finely matted centre with date square below 'XII', the silvered chapter ring with Roman hours and Arabic five minutes within the outer minute track, fleur-de-lis half hour markers, signed to the lower edge 'Joseph Knibb, London';
MOVEMENT: with latches to the dial plate and with movement plates joined by five latched vase-shaped pillars, twin gut fusées, reconverted verge escapement, pierced numbered countwheel to backplate operating two hammers on two bells, the backplate engraved with flower-heads and foliage within a line border, signed in an arc 'Joseph Knibb, Londini, Fecit'
