MARK OF ESAIAS ZUR LINDEN, NUREMBERG, 1605-1629
On high domed oval base chased with panels of fruit and sea monsters above a band of oval matted bosses, the stem applied with four cast dolphins with their looped tails with openwork leaf-capped scrolls between, the hull chased on one side with Neptune and on the other with a putto reclining against a dolphin within panels of strapwork and bellflowers on a matted ground, the detachable upper portion with openwork rim cast with winged putti and foliate scrolls, the deck manned by the cast and enameled figures of eight mariners, with central mast with two billowing square sails, with three further sailors in the rigging, marked near base rim, hull and deck with maker's mark and town mark
