The case with a draped female figure of Clio examining a parchment, flanked by a floral garland and a putto near a globe, the rectangular base with foliate friezes, rosettes and oak leaves, acorns and swags, on four fluted quadrangular feet, on a further bleu turquin marble base, the white enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic minutes and signed 'Cronier / A PARIS', with fine adjustment and trip-lever and pierced-gilt hands, the twin-barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike to bell
