A NEAR PAIR OF LOUIS XV ORMOLU-MOUNTED KINGWOOD, TULIPWOOD AND BOIS DE BOUT MARQUETRY COMMODES
MID-18TH CENTURY, LARGELY REVENEERED AND REMOUNTED
Each of bombé form, the pink and grey marble top above two long drawers decorated sans traverse and mounted with a large rocaille cartouche, on cabriole legs, one stamped 'L. PERIDIEZ' twice and 'JME' once, the other stamped 'L. PERIDIEZ JME', one drawer side inscribed '51554' and '70951', one marble inscribed 'FOY', the other inscribed '70951', stenciled '228', applied with an old Chenue transport label with a faint inscription, and bearing a purple customs stamp, variations to construction and marbles
34 ½ in. (88 cm.) high, 41 ½ in. (105.5 cm.) wide, 24 in. (61 cm.) deep
