Circular, the ecuelles chased and engraved with scrolls, flowers, and rocaille on a matte ground, with a vacant cartouche to one side, with leaf-capped loop handles, the conforming domed covers with gadrooned rim and flower and leaf-form finial, engraved on one side with a coat-of-arms flanked by two reclining lion supporters, with associated removable liners with two bracket handles, ecuelles marked on underside with maker's mark for Rion, covers with retailer mark for Cosson Corby, both ecuelles and covers with Minerva head fineness mark, 1838-1973, liners marked on underside with maker's mark PC a device between, unidentified, and fineness mark, 1819-1838, further marked near rim with large guarantee, 1819-1838, and 1838 giraffe head control mark
