Spool-shaped and with acanthus foliage rims, the sides pierced and chased with foliate Vitruvian scrolls, each engraved with a crest with duke's coronet above, engraved on underside the rim with initial D on one and P on the other and a partially legible scratchweight, marked on rims

The crest is that of Scott, for the Dukes of Buccleuch, almost certainly for Henry Scott, 3rd Duke of Buccleuch K.T., K.G. (1746-1812).
