A VERY LARGE ICON SHOWING THE NATIVITY OF CHRIST FROM A CHURCH ICONOSTASIS Russian, 17th century Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. Tt the centre of a rocky landscape the Mother of God in a reclining position at the entrance of a cave in front of the Christ Child lying in a manger. Above two angels, their hands covered in reverence, to the left the three Magi, to the right a shepherd playing a flute. In the lower left corner the meeting of Joseph with the aged shepherd, in the lower right corner the midwife bathing the Christ Child The haloes and border stripped to gesso/wood, minimally restored. 67 x 47.2 cm.

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
