DIN A4, maschinenschriftlicher Briefkopf "Der Führer", maschinenschriftlicher Text. Handschriftlich von Lammers datiert "Führer=Hauptquartier, den 12. Mai" 1940. Eigenhändige Unterschrift Hitlers in schwarzer Tinte, Gegenzeichnung durch "Krosigk" und Paraphe "L 12./3." von Lammers. Am Oberrand bezeichnet "2 Ausfertigungen - Prüfnummer 2", neben Hitlers Unterschrift der Tintenvermerk "1 Ausfertigung m.der Prüfnummer 2 [.] ist als Anlage zu [./Aktennummer] untergegangen. 25.5.40" mit undeutlichem Kürzel. Gefaltet.
Offensichtlich euphorisiert von den ersten militärischen Erfolgen im Frankreichfeldzug fiel es Hitler nicht schwer, zum ersten Mal die Kreditermächtigung im zweistelligen Milliarden-Bereich zu genehmigen. Nur einen Tag später verlieh er im "Felsennest" Ritterkreuze an die Fallschirmjäger, die am 12. Mai an der Einnahme des Forts Eben Emael beteiligt waren.
