Diese Jade wird in dem Buch von FILIPPO SALVIATI: THE MYSTERIOUS STONE: Chinese Jades from the Neolithic to the Han from private collections publiziert (Erscheinungstermin Frühjahr 2017). Notes by Prof. Salviati: This small ornament, shaped as a half disc with three projections on the top side, is one of the most common types of jades crafted by the Liangzhu culture and is documented mostly in sites in Yuhang county, Zhejiang province, such as the Yaoshan and Fanshan cemeteries. The front is decorated with an animal mask carved in low relief filled with tiny incised lines, while the back is plain. A perforation runs through the central projection from the top to the bottom of the jade, which is reddish in colour with opaque patches due to limited surface alteration of the stone. A three-pronged fitting of similar size and type of stone, decorated with a slightly more complex version of the mask motif, is in the Freer/Sackler galleries (acc. no. S1987.734): http://www.asia.si.edu/collections/edan/object.php?q=fsg_S1987.734 A selection of three-pronged fittings excavated from Liangzhu culture sites is presented in Zhejiang institute of cultural relics and archaeology, Liangzhu wenhua yuqi (Jades of the Liangzhu Culture), Wenwu chubanshe, Beijing 1990, pls.124-132.
