1970. Farbcarborundum und Prägedruck. 76 x 56,5 cm. R. u. mit Bleistift sign. Clavé, l. u. num. 79/80 sowie Blindstempel 'L'Oeuvre Gravée', unter Glas gerahmt, ungeöffnet. - Spanischer Künstler. C. besuchte als junger Mann Abendklassen einer Malschule in Barcelona und war ab 1932 als Illustrator und Plakatkünstler tätig. Als Folge des spanischen Bürgerkriegs ließ C. sich 1939 in Paris nieder. 1944 lernte er dort Picasso kennen. 1946-52 schuf er Bühnbilder für viele Theater in Europa und Nordamerika. Seit 1954 arbeitete er als freischaffender Künstler. Mus.: London (Tate, Brit. Mus.), Barcelona, Bilbao, Tokio, Antibes (Mus. Picasso) u.a. Lit.: AKL, Vollmer.
