Auto Union HORCH 830 BL Pullmann, 1938 (E. Braun, B.v. Schirach?)

Length 5.05 m, width 1.78 m, height 1.68 m. Wheel base 3.35 m, turning radius 13.5 m.
6200 units of the type 830 BL were built from 1933 to 1940. At the end of the WW II the Horch factory in Zwickau was destroyed, including the company archives, and whatever was left was shipped to the Soviet Union. Thus the history of this vehicle is based on the information of the consignor, that we were unable to document. Back in the 1980ies the car was purchased by the owner of Vienna's "Maxim" Nightclub, Josef Stern. We had the car registered on the nightclub in 1991 (registration document included) and used it for marketing purposes. Mr. Stern commissioned an investigator to dig into the history of the car, and, supposedly, in 1993 documents surfaced to prove that Adolf Hitler bought the car in 1938 for his mistress, Eva Braun, but handed it over to Baldur von Schirach after the outbreak of WW II. This story was published in 2016 in Austria's daily "Kronen Zeitung" in March 2016, after the car had undergone complete restoration and was to be put up for display at the oldtimer show in Tulln, Austria, in May of 2016. When our consignor bought the car from the Stern estate these documents were unfortunately not passed on. The known Horch experts in and around Zwickau and Chemnitz that we contacted could unfortunately not provide any proof either. Since its restoration in Rodingersdorf in Lower Austria, previous to the 2016 auto show, the car was sitting in a garage and had no longer be moved. We were unable to get the engine going, whereas we are offering this car as in need of repair. Further details you can find on our website.
