PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES – A collection of documents signed by thirty-one Presidents of the United States from George WASHINGTON to Herbert HOOVER, together with documents signed by Harry TRUMAN, Dwight D. Eisenhower and Lyndon B. JOHNSON, all accomplished during their respective administrations together with prints and photographs of each subject, various places, 1795 to c. 1965.

Housed in an extra-illustrated album with illustrations of each president, bound in red morocco (binding loose, and spine and boards separated, documents mostly clean and overall fine condition).

A fine collection of documents, all signed as President. The collection includes: George WASHINGTON (1732-1799) D.S., [Philadelphia,] 7 November 1795. A three-language ship's paper additionally signed by Edmund RANDOLPH as Secretary of State and Joseph MILLER as Collector for the Port of Salem. * John ADAMS (1735-1826). D.S., Philadelphia, 20 July 1799. A naval commission appointing John Bullus a surgeon. Countersigned by Benjamin STODDERT. * Thomas JEFFERSON (1743-1826). D.S., [Washington,] 4 April 1805. A Mediterranean ship's passport issued to the ship Hero. Countersigned by James MADISON as Secretary of State and David GELSTON as Collector of the Port of New York. * MADISON, James (1751-1836). D.S., Washington, 29 December 1811. A naval commission appointing John H. Dent a captain. * James MONROE (1758-1831). D.S., [Washington,] 16 February 1822.
