Schlanke Rückenklinge mit beidseitig dreifacher Kehlung. Terzseitig am Klingenansatz gravierte Reichsapfelmarke. Gerade, weit ausladende Parierstange mit spiralig gekehltem Dekor. Die Endknäufe in Form von Drachenköpfen geschnitten, eine eingesteckte Zunge verloren. Terzseitiger Parierbügel mit plastisch geschnittenen Monsterköpfen. Quartseitig glatter Fingerbügel. Integral geschmiedete, beidseitig gekehlte eiserne Hilze mit beidseitig je drei Einlagen mit feinem Schachbrettmosaik aus Bein und Horn. Die vierte Einlage jeweils aus gerautem Hirschhorn. Knauf in Vogelkopfform. Auf dem Rücken des Knaufes gravierte Reichsapfelmarke, die Hilze seitlich mit wohl später graviertem spanischen Motto "POR MI LEY - Y POR MI REY" ("Für mein Recht und meinen König"). Länge 133 cm.
Seltenes Langes Messer in hochwertiger, höfischer Qualität. Diese Spätform des Langen Messers wurde häufig auch als Jagdschwert geführt.

A significant South German "Langes Messer" (one-handed sword), circa 1530/40
Slender single-edged blade with triple fullers on both sides. The imperial orb mark engraved on the obverse root of the blade. The straight, extended quillons with spirally fluted decoration. The finials chased in the shape of dragon's heads, one inset tongue has been lost. The knuckle guard on the obverse chased with fully sculptured monsters' heads. Smooth finger rests on the reverse. The iron hilt forged as one piece, with fullers and three inlays in a delicate chequered pattern of bone and horn inset on both sides. The fourth inlay each made of roughened staghorn. Bird's head pommel. The imperial orb mark engraved on the back of the pommel, the hilt engraved on the side with the Spanish motto "POR MI LEY - Y POR MI REY" (tr. "For my law and my king"), probably of later date. Length 133 cm.
The unusual, one-handed sword of superlative, courtly quality. This late form of the "Langes Messer" was commonly also used as a hunting sword.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
