See http://histrhen.landesgeschichte.eu/2019/05/der-kanzler-und-die-kunst/ On the Photo it hangs to the right of a panel painting of Saint Ursula, which was just acquired from the Schnütgen-Museum in Cologne, Germany. Probably Adenauer has bought it from Heinz Kisters (1912-1977), but also possibly from another dealer. After the death of Adenauer, it is passed but in the collection Kisters. The art dealer Kisters was at the time controversial, especially by him organized more auction of some panel paintings from the estate of Adenauer at Christie's had no success. The here called the factory, was not among these pictures. In recent times, paintings from the collection Kisters have been auctioned at very high prices, like a Cranach triptych, or a painting of the Sacra Conversazione by Titian, a proof that his Art connoisseurship, however, well must have been.
