Lot 2197 Impressive two-blade control screen
Japan. Meiji Period. 1900.

Panels made of ebony, persimmon with motifs in high Relief on ivory, bone, and little mother-of-pearl. Frame in black lacquered wood, pierced carved, eyes of the dragon is inserted. In very high Relief, a singing bird is shown in the left Panel, flowering
peonies (botan) and on the right is a Kingfisher above flowering iris
(kakitsubata) and in these environments (aoi). The two representations with a relief height of more
than 8cm are adjusted so that the control screen. The width of the frame
made of black lacquered wood is pierced carved with dragons in clouds. On the
outside sparrows between flowers and maple leaves that fall on sasa bamboo and
in these environments minimize flutter. Height 211cm, width of each leaf 93.5 cm. Panel height 111cm, width 64cm. Condition A/B.
