Incunable edition of an extensive commentary on canon law by the teacher of Duranti. The author, also known as Bernard de Botone, was a chancellor at the University of Bologna and a papal chaplain to Popes Innocent IV and Alexander IV. Chancery folio (284 x198mm). 203 leaves [of 204, without final blank]. Yellow capital strokes in book one. (First and last leaves remargined at gutter and a bit soiled, some faint dampstaining and foxing, scattered wormholes.) Later stiff vellum reusing manuscript antiphonal leaf (hinges cracked). Provenance: convent of friars dedicated to Sainte Marie de Grace in Bordeaux (early inscription on title).
