First edition of this treatise on Adriatic shells by the famous Rimini physician, anatomist, naturalist and academic Giovanni Bianchi, decorated with plates designed by Ercole Lelli and engraved by Carlo Antonio Pisarri.

4to (278 x 200mm). Title with printer's device depicting Minerva with motto, 5 engraved folding plates, woodcut head-and-tail pieces (spotting). Contemporary boards, manuscript title on spine, uncut (some staining, bindnig a bit detached from text). Provenance: Mario Cermenati (ownership stamp on title) - Francesco Casella (bookseller's ticket).
