Rare recueil de planches de quadrupèdes, toutes aquarellées à l'époque, dans un maroquin rouge de la fin du XVIIIe siècle. La facture et la nature du coloris des gravures de ce recueil sont identiques à celles de la série Collection des animaux quadrupèdes de Buffon, publiée à l'Hôtel de Thou à la fin du XVIIIe siècle. Comme dans cette dernière, les planches proviennent d'éditions antérieures des oeuvres de Buffon et leur numérotation inscrite dans la plaque ne fait plus foi - elles sont donc renumérotées à l'encre, dans l'ordre de leur apparition. Cependant, le présent recueil ne suit pas l'ordre choisi dans la Collection, qui se conformait au système de Linné. En outre, nous dénombrons 312 planches, contre 362 dans la Collection, et aucune page de texte autre que le faux-titre introductif. Cependant, l'absence de tomaison au dos de la reliure laisse entendre que notre recueil était pensé comme un ensemble contenu dans un volume unique, constitué à l'époque. Brunet, I, col. 1379.

After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
