Le recueil, introduit par quelques mots de Paul Éluard, rassemble 32 "poèmes pour les enfants" de Deharme illustrés de 20 photomontages de Cahun. Parr & Badger, I, p. 108 ("[The poems] are described as being for children, but French Surrealist children must be made of sterner stuff than ordinary kids: Deharme's imagery is not just dark in an Alice in Wonderland sense, but positively disturbing. [...] Cahun illustrates these melancholy thoughts with a panoply of Surrealist melancholy objects, usually centred on the double meaning of the book's title - gardens (spades) and card games (hearts, spades).")

Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
