In German. One page, 223 x 143mm, on headed paper. Envelope.

Discussing his dissertation with the sister of its psychic subject. Jung replies to Alice Preiswerk-Maggi’s request: ‘Unfortunately I only have the original manuscript of my dissertation. However, you can find a copy at Basel University library (Zürich dissertations 1902) as well as bookshops. Zur Psychologie u[nd] Pathologie sog[enannter] occulter Phänomene [On the psychology and pathology of the so-called occult phenomena] (Leipzig, 1902)’.

Jung’s correspondent, Alice Preiswerk-Maggi (1881-1961), was Jung’s cousin and the sister of Helene Preiswerk (1881-1911), one of Jung’s main subjects in his 1902 medical dissertation. Helene had psychic capabilities, and Jung’s seances with her formed the basis of his study.
