Arct. Biblio size 3471, Sabin 17 417 David Cranz (1723-1777), Secretary of count Zinzendorf in Herrnhut, were sent in 1761 to Greenland, where the Moravian Church since 1733, a Mission of New Herrnhut and Lichtenfels (today Akunnat;). His experiences and the results of his one-year stay, he summarized in a detailed report, which contains besides a history of the Mission itself, a geographical description of Greenland (geography, climatic conditions, Geology, botany, and Zoology), and the native eskimo population. The English Version was released only 2 years after the German first edition (Barby/ Leipzig, 1765).
