First edition of this significant work of natural history divided into two parts, with a valuable illustrative system designed by Boucher and engraved by Quentin Pierre Chedel. The first part is dedicated to lithology while the second to shells.

2 parts in one volume, 4to (283 x 218mm). Title in red and black with woodcut coat of arms, 33 engraved plates including frontispiece (light browning), woodcut headpieces and initials (rare scattered spots). Full contemporary calf, gilt title on spine label (rebacked preserving part of the original spine).
