Iconographically, the theme's transformation is based on Bartolome Esteban Murillo's 'The Conversion of Saint Paul' at the Prado Museum in Madrid. Although the representation used there has compositional similarities, the variant offered here of the same image theme differs considerably in the implementation and the image details. erheblich. Obgleich die dort verwendete Darstellung kompositorische Ähnlichkeiten aufweist, unterscheidet sich die hier angebotene Variante des gleichen Bildthemas in der Umsetzung sowie den Bilddetails erheblich.
