First edition of the poems by Domenico Tempio from Catania, famous for his harsh satire and erotic poems and considered one of the main Sicilian dialectal poets. It is probably a copy of Ignazio Scimonelli (1754-1831), a lawyer and an amateur poet himself, member of the "Accademia Siciliana".

3 parts in one volume, 8vo (200 x 143mm). Portrait of the author as frontispiece (light and occasional spotting). Contemporary binding backed in leather with gilt title and decorations, red edges (boards later covered with cloth, minimal wear). Provenance: Ignazio Scimonelli (?) (ownership inscription); Comm. A. Padula (armorial bookplate).
