Provenienz: Galerie Aras, Ravensburg. - Privatsammlung, Baden - Württemberg. - Der 1927 in Rom geborene Piero Dorazio zählt zu den Hauptvertretern der konkreten Kunst in Italien. Doch zunächst interessiert Dorazio sich für die Architektur. 1945 begann er ein Architekturstudium in Rom. Gleichzeitig entstanden jedoch schon erste abstrakte Arbeiten. 1947 erhielt er ein Stipendium an der École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Während eines einjährigen Aufenthalts in den USA machte er die Bekanntschaft der führenden abstrakten Expressionisten, wie Marc Rothko und Barnett Newman, deren Farbfeldmalerei ihn nachhaltig beeinflussten. 1959 nahm Piero Doario an der documenta II in Kassel teil. Anschließend erhielt er einen Lehrauftrag an der Universität of Pennsylvania, wo er 1963 das Institut of Contemporary Art gründete und 1968 zum Professor ernannt wurde. - In den 1960er Jahren entstanden im New Yorker Atelier des Künstlers die ersten, aus Farbbändern aufgebauten Kompositionen. Darin verwendete er meist reine Grundfarben, die er in diagonalen Streifen, Linien, Feldern und Flächen übereinander lagerte und verwebte oder als Farbflecken in linearen Rastern rhythmisierte. Dabei nutzte er die so entstandenen streng geordneten Komposition um Licht und Farbe einzufangen.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
