First edition of Orwell's first full-length novel, exploring the author's experiences living in poverty in two of the most prosperous and wealthy European cities. Fenwick A.1a. Octavo. (Some spotting.) Original black cloth boards, titles to spine in yellow (lacking the rare dust-jacket, light wear to head of spine); housed in modern black half morocco box.

First edition. Fenwick A.9a. Octavo. Original grey boards, titles to spine in green (spine ends lightly worn, small bump to top edge of upper board, minor stains); original pictorial dust-jacket (spine and upper edge tanned, light creasing, chipped at head of spine into one letter, minor nicks and edge wear).
