Exemplaire hors commerce avec envoi autographe signé de Jean Paulhan à son ami Claude Elsen. Écrivain et traducteur belge, Gaston Derycke s'installe à Paris sous le pseudonyme de Claude Elsen après la guerre. Il fut également critique littéraire et de cinéma pour Cassandre et la Nouvelle revue française. En 1944, Paulhan découvre Dubuffet et rédige la Lettre qui servira de préface à la première exposition de l'artiste. C'est le début d'une longue amitié entre les deux hommes, doublée d'une grande complicité artistique. Subjugué par La Métromanie, Dubuffet écrira à Paulhan : "Tu emportes ton lecteur – et cela dès les premièrs lignes, et ensuite durablement – dans un domaine enchanté – d'une très haute tension poétique – somnanbulique. C'est bouleversant, effarant. Je crois que peu de personnes – même tout à fait étrangères à la poésie et à la lecture – pourraient aborder ce texte sans être bouleversées – et profondément changées."

In-8 carré (210 x 208 mm). Édition originale, calligraphiée et illustrée par Jean Dubuffet de 15 lithographies à pleine page et 44 lithographies dans le texte. Tirage limité à 150 exemplaires, celui-ci l'un des 15 hors-commerce sur papier d'emballage (n° II). Cartonnage toilé vert foncé d'éditeur, titre doré gravé au premier plat. Envoi autographe signé de l'auteur : "à Claude Elsen, son ami, Jean P."

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
