Individuelle Luxusfertigung der Fa. Alcoso, Solingen, für Wolff anlässlich der Ritterkreuzverleihung nach dem Kampf um Narvik. Echte Damastklinge mit beidseitig geätzten, vergoldeten und gebläuten Kartuschen, terzseitig in der Faksimile-Handschrift des Trägers "Max-Eckart Wolff - 1.4.1921" und quartseitig "Narvik 10. u.13.4.1940". Auf der terzseitigen Fehlschärfe das geätzte Wagenlogo "Alcoso A C S Solingen". Feuervergoldete Parierstange mit Druckknopf, Adlerknauf, silbernes Portepee. Das Griffstück aus Elfenbein mit den typischen Altersrissen und Drahtwicklung. Die Messingscheide mit handgraviertem Eichenblattdekor, die nachziselierten Tragebänder mit Tampenringen. Länge ca. 38 cm. Alle Kriegsmarine-Dolche in Luxusausführung sind sehr selten, allerdings mit einer echten Damastklinge für einen bekannten Ritterkreuzträger eine echte Rarität!
Max-Eckart Wolff (1902 - 1988), 1913 bis 1921 im Kadettenkorps in Bensberg, 1922 Eintritt in die Reichsmarine, 1925 Leutnant zur See,
1934 Kapitänleutnant und Kommandant des Torpedobootes Tiger, 1937 Korvettenkapitän, 1938 als Leiter der Ausbildungsabteilung in die 5. Zerstörerflottille, später Kommandant des Zerstörers Z 2 "Georg Thiele". Teilnahme am Unternehmen "Weserübung", dem Angriff auf Norwegen und Dänemark, bei dem die "Georg Thiele" am 13. April 1940 durch Selbstsprengung bei Narvik verloren ging. In den anschließenden Landgefechten um Narvik war Wolff Bataillonskommandeur im Marine-Regiment Berger. Dafür erhielt er am 4.8.1940 das Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes. Danach Kommandeur des Torpedo-Erprobungskommandos, 1941 Fregattenkapitän, 1943 Kapitän zur See und Chef der 5. Zerstörerflottille, vertretungsweise auch Führer der Zerstörer. 1944 Abteilungschef im OKM. 1956 Eintritt in die Bundesmarine, 1957 Flottillenadmiral, 1963 verabschiedet.

Individual deluxe version manufactured by the company Alcoso, Solingen, for Wolff on the occasion of the award of the Knight’s Cross after the Battle of Narvik. Genuine Damascus steel blade, with cartouches etched, gilt and blued on both sides, the obverse with facsimile signature of the bearer "Max-Eckart Wolff - 1.4.1921" and the reverse with "Narvik 10. u.13.4.1940". The obverse ricasso with etched scales logo "Alcoso A C S Solingen". Fire-gilt quillons with press button, eagle pommel, silver sword knot. The grip of ivory with characteristic age cracks and wire wrap. The brass scabbard decorated with hand-engraved oakleaves, the re-chiselled suspension bands with rope rings. Length approx. 38 cm. All navy daggers in deluxe version are very rare. However, this item with a genuine Damascus steel blade belonging to a well-known Knight's Cross bearer is an absolute rarity!
Max-Eckart Wolff (1902 - 1988), member of the Cadet Corps in Bensberg from 1913 to 1921, joined the Reichsmarine in 1922 and became naval lieutenant in 1925, lieutenant captain and commander of the torpedo boat Tiger in 1934, lieutenant commander in 1937, joined the 5th Destroyer Flotilla in 1938 as head of the training department, later became commander of the destroyer Z 2 "Georg Thiele". Participation in the operation "Weserübung", the attack on Norway and Denmark, during which the "Georg Thiele" had to be scuttled on 13 April 1940 near Narvik. In the ensuing land battles for Narvik Wolff was battalion commander in the navy regiment Berger, for which he was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross on 4 August 1940. Afterwards, he became commander of the torpedo operational test unit, frigate captain in 1941, naval captain and chief of the 5th Destroyer Flotilla in 1943, and commander of the destroyers as a temporary replacement. He became department chief in the OKM (Upper Command of the Navy) in 1944, joined the Federal Navy in 1956, became flotilla admiral in 1957 and retired in 1963.
