Eickhorn-Fertigung der höchsten Qualitätsstufe aus feuervergoldetem Buntmetall. Originale Damastklinge mit terzseitig goldener Inschrift "In Dankbarkeit und Treue - Die Kriegsmarine", quartseitig auf der Fehlschärfe Eickhorn-Marke zwischen 1935 und 1941. Die Angel mit eingeschlagener "1", darüber "D" für Damast. Der Adlerknauf mit plastisch herausgearbeiteten Details, das Hakenkreuz separat aufgesetzt und mit 17 gefassten Brillanten besetzt. Innenseitig eingeschlagene Nummer "1". Die en suite ausgeführte Parierstange mit nummerngleicher Punze "1" an der Griffaufnahme. Der Elfenbeingriff mit spiralförmig umlaufendem vergoldeten Eichenlaubband. Weißes Stoßleder. Die Scheide mit beidseitig reliefiertem, unklarem Anker zwischen Eichenlaubdekor. Länge des Dolches 39,5 cm, Gesamtlänge 42 cm. Dazu das stark getragene, goldene Portepee.

Nach eigenen Angaben Karlgeorg Schusters an seine Familie wurde ihm dieser Dolch zum Ausscheiden aus dem aktiven Dienst am 30.6.1943 verliehen.

Provenienz: Aus Familienbesitz. Dazu ein Farbfoto eines Silberrahmens mit dem Brustportrait Admiral Schusters und ein Farbfoto Karlgeorg Schusters um 1970, das ihn an seinem Schreibtisch ein Manuskript lesend zeigt, im rechten Vordergrund auf dem Schreibtisch liegt der Ehrendolch der Kriegsmarine.

Eickhorn type, in the highest quality grade, made of fire-gilt, non-ferrous metal. Original damascus blade with golden inscription "In Dankbarkeit und Treue - Die Kriegsmarine" (In Gratitude and Loyalty the Navy) on the obverse and the Eickhorn logo (1935-41) on the reverse. The tang stamped "1" and with a "D" for damascus blade. The eagle pommel with fully sculptured details, the swastika mounted separately and set with 17 diamonds. The number "1" struck on the inside. The en suite quillons with the identical number mark "1" on the slot for the handle. The ivory handle adorned with a spiraling band of gilt oak leaves. White thrusting leather. Both sides of the scabbard with a foul anchor in relief amidst oak leaf decoration. Length of the dagger 39.5 cm, overall length 42 cm. Includes a heavily worn golden Portepee.

According to his family, Karlgeorg Schuster claimed he was awarded this dagger on his retirement from active service on 30 June 1943.

Comes with a colour photograph in a silver frame of a half-length portrait of Admiral Schuster and a colour photograph of Karlgeorg Schuster circa 1970, showing him reading a manuscript at his desk, the honorary dagger of the Kriegsmarine in the right foreground on the desk.
