Achtkantige Läufe aus feinem Rosendamast mit Hakenschwanzschrauben und Haarzügen im Kaliber 10,5 mm. Höhenverstellbare Kimmen und eingeschobene Korne, auf den Laufoberseiten jeweils in einer silbergerahmten Kartusche goldeingelegte Signatur "W. HANAU IN GERA". Doppelte, in Form eines Drachenkopfes geschnittene, goldeingelegte und gebläute Pistonsockel, nummeriert "1" bzw. "2". Die langen Schwanzschraubenblätter floral und in Form eines Drachen geschnitten sowie im Untergrund vergoldet. Rückliegende, floral geschnittene und vergoldete Perkussionsschlösser mit Rückstechern. Die rankenförmig fein beschnitzten Nussholzschäfte mit gebläuten, geschnittenen und goldeingelegten Eisengarnituren. Länge je 38 cm. Im samtausgeschlagenen, furnierten Holzkasten mit komplettem Zubehör und Schlüssel. Im Deckel goldgeprägtes Firmen-Logo "Fürstl. Lobenstein- Ebersdorfer etc. Hofbüchsenmacher W. Hanau in Gera", geteilt durch ein Fürstenwappen. Kasten außenseitig mit einigen Furnierschäden. Maße 46,5 x 35,7 x 7,5 cm.
Vermutlich ungeschossenes, prunkvolles Pistolenpaar in neuwertigem Zustand. W. Hanau, Gera/Sachsen, erwähnt um 1850.

A pair of cased, chiselled and gold-inlaid percussion pistols, W. Hanau, Gera, circa 1850
Octagonal barrels of fine rose Damascus steel with patent breech blocks and hair-rifled bores in 10.5 mm calibre. Adjustable rear sights and dovetail front sights, on the barrel tops a silver framed cartouche with gold-inlaid signature "W. HANAU IN GERA". Double gold-inlaid and blued snails chiselled in the form of dragon heads and numbered "1" and "2", respectively. The long tangs chiselled with scrolling flowers and a dragon and with gilt base. Gilt back-action percussion locks chiselled with flowers, forward set triggers. The walnut stocks finely carved with scrolling foliage and featuring blued, chiselled and gold-inlaid iron furniture. Length of either pistol 38 cm.
In velvet lined, veneered wood case with complete accessories and key. In the lid the gold embossed company logo "Fürstl. Lobenstein- Ebersdorfer etc. Hofbüchsenmacher W. Hanau in Gera" divided by a coat of arms. The exterior of the case with some veneer damage. Dimensions 46.5 x 35.7 x 7.5 cm.
Probably never shot, superb pair of pistols in mint condition. W. Hanau, Gera/Saxony, mentioned around 1850.

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
