A LACQUERED WOOD STANDING FIGURE OF KOMOKUTEN
Japan, Edo period Wood. H. ca. 80.5 cm. The Komokuten, also known as the guardian of the west stands on a demon placed on a rectangular base, with his hair tied to a knot above his head, holding a scroll in his left hand. With traces of age, partially damaged and restored, the pen in right hand lost.
