General Ernst von Barth zu Harmating begann seine Karriere 1868 als Offiziersaspirant im Infanterie-Leib-Regiment, stieg dort 1874 zum Oberleutnant auf und versah hier 1887/89 Dienst als Kompaniechef. Carl Graf Verri della Bosia diente als Leutnant in diesem Garde-Regiment der bayerischen Könige.
Detailed miniature of an officer's grenadier cap dating from the regiment's establishment in 1814. Silver, enamelled and partially gilt. Triangular pedestal with a palmette frieze around the edge. Blank pedestal plaque held by three garnets, no dedication engraving. The interior of the cap gilt. Flaws in the enamel of the feather plume, one braid end without a tassel still attached on the side, the other with a tassel, enclosed separately. Slightly damaged, signs of age. Height 21 cm. Extremely rare object, presented to an officer of an elite regiment. Includes an invitation to Ernst von Bath zu Harmating to attend the regiment's centenary celebration in 1914 and an empty case with the calling card of Carl Graf Verri della Bosia.
General Ernst von Barth zu Harmating started his career as an officer cadet in the Infantry Lifeguard Regiment in 1868, where he was promoted to Oberleutnant in 1874 and served as company commander in 1887/89. Carl Graf Verri della Bosia served as Leutnant in this Guard Regiment of the Bavarian Kings.
