A very rare iron-red decorated sgraffito "dragon"-cup with Qianlong mark
Tea cup finely decorated with two iron-red five-headed dragons above foaming waves on a white-enamelled sgraffito ground incised with waves. The rim is gold-decorated. With Qianlong six character mark in iron red within double squares on the bottom. Intact. No chips, no cracks! Height 4.9 cm.
A similar cup, also lacking a saucer, in the collection of the Palace Museum, Beijing, is illustrated in Gutao Ciziliao Xuancui, Beijing, 2005, p. 255, no. 225. Cf. a cup with saucer in Christie's, 15 September 2017, lot 1218.


Provenance: From the estate of the private collection F. S., Nuremberg (Germany), acquired in the 1970s in Paris.

Eisenrot bemalte Sgraffito-Drachentasse mit Qianlong-Marke
Sehr seltene, fein dekorierte Teetasse mit zwei fünfköpfigen Drachen über schäumenden Wellen auf einem weiß emaillierten, mit Wellen eingeritzten Sgraffito-Grund. Bemalung in Unterglasur-Eisenrot. Der Rand ist mit Gold verziert. Auf dem Boden Qianlong-Marke mit sechs Zeichen in Eisenrot innerhalb von Doppelquadraten. Intakt. Höhe 4,9 cm.
Eine ähnliche Tasse, ebenfalls ohne Untertasse, in der Sammlung des Palastmuseums, Peking, in Gutao Ciziliao Xuancui, Peking, 2005, S. 255, Nr. 225. Vgl. eine Tasse (mit Untertasse) bei Christie's, 15. September 2017, Lot 1218.

Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
