A Roman Dionysos statuette, 2nd – 3rd century
Impressive bronze of the youthful Dionysos. Strands of hair fall to the left and right on the chest, which is covered by a panther skin. In the right hand a wine jug. The statuette, which is cast open at the back, was probably originally attached to a piece of furniture or a chariot. A large eyelet at the back and a pin at the back of the head served for attachment. Feet lost. Beautiful patina. Height 17 cm.

Bronzestatuette des Dionysos, römisch, 2. – 3. Jhdt
Beeindruckende Bronze des jugendlichen Dionysos. Haarsträhnen fallen links und rechts auf die Brust, die von einem Pantherfell bedeckt wird. In der Rechten ein Weinkrug. Die hinten offen gegossene Statuette dürfte ursprünglich an einem Möbel, Wagen, oder Ähnlichem befestigt gewesen sein. Zur Befestigung dienten eine große Öse am Rücken und ein Stift am Hinterkopf. Füße verloren. Schöne Patina. Höhe 17 cm.

Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
