Mehrteilig gearbeitete Figurengruppe aus Hartholz, die Gesichter, Hände und Füße in Elfenbein eingesetzt. Darstellung der Hl. Anna, die junge Maria im Lesen unterweisend. Auf thronartigem Sessel mit muschelförmiger Bekrönung. Plinthe mit umlaufendem Akanthuslaubdekor. Alte, teilvergoldete Fassung. Höhe 44 cm.

An Indo-Portuguese sculptural group "Sant'Ana mestra", probably Goa, circa 1700
The figures wrought in several pieces in hardwood, the faces, hands and feet inset in ivory. A depiction of St. Anne, teaching the young Virgin Mary how to read. On a throne-like chair with a shell-shaped finial. The plinth with a continuous border of acanthus leaves. Old, partially gilt paintwork. Height 44 cm.
