Fowler 121. - Erste Ausgabe und Hauptwerk des österreichischen Barockbaumeisters. - Die ersten drei Bücher zeigen bekannte Bauwerke der Antike, der vierte Teil die bedeutenden Werke Fischers selbst, mit Ansichten aus Prag, Wien und Salzburg, der fünfte Teil enthält Darstellungen antiker Vasen. Begleitender Text ist vorhanden im 1. Teil zu Tafeln 1-7, 9-12, 17-19; im 2. Teil zu Tafeln 3, 5-8, 10-11 und 13; im 3. Teil sind 2 Bll. allgemeiner Text vorhanden, und im 4. Teil 1 Bl. Text. - Stellenweise etwas feucht- und altersfleckig bzw. mit Gebrauchsspuren, Kupfertitel mit Randausriss, Quetschfalten in den Vorsätzen. Es fehlen 1 Karte sowie im 1. Teil: Tafeln 2, 8, 9, 12 [von insges. 20], im 3. Teil Tafeln 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 [von insges. 15], im 4. Teil Tafeln 3 und 21 [von insges. 21], im 5. Teil Tafel 1 [von insges. 13]. The first three books show well-known buildings of the ancient world, the fourth part shows the important works by Fischer himself, with views from Prague, Vienna and Salzburg, the fifth part contains representations of ancient vases. 5 parts in 1 volume. With engraved title, engraved dedication, 5 engraved half-titles as well as 70 (instead of 85) copper engravings. Leather binding, boards with defects, ties missing, rubbed. Missing 1 map, 15 copper engravings and numerous text sheets. Partly somewhat stained and worn, title with defect.
