First edition, first impression of the fourth novel in the Bond series. Written in the same year as Moonraker, Diamonds are Forever concerns the illicit trade in diamonds smuggled out of Sierra Leone. It was made into a film starring Sean Connery in 1971. Gilbert A4a (1.2).
Octavo. Publisher’s black boards blind-stamped with diamond design, stamped in silver on front cover and spine; original dust-jacket after a design by Pat Marriott showing a large solitaire pear-shaped diamond pendant (minor wear to dust-jacket at head of spine panel and corners); housed in modern quarter morocco box.
