Im selben Jahr erschien auch eine zweite (billige) Ausgabe mit einem Atlas und dem Text in Oktav. - Die Tafeln, Inkunabeln der Lithographie, zeigen Ansichten von Athen, Jerusalem, Kairo, Konstantinopel, etc. und eine prächtige Gesamtans. von Jerusalem. - Tafelbd. etwas stockfleckig u. - Der Maler und Kunstgelehrte Forbin wurde 1816 Nachfolger Denons, des Begründers der Ägyptologie, als Generaldirektor der französischen Museen. In dieser Stellung erwarb er sich große Verdienste durch seine Ankäufe für den Louvre. Seine für das Louvre-Museum unternommene Sammlerreise in die Levante in den Jahren 1817 und 1818 beschreibt er im vorliegenden Werk. Die Reise führte in nach Melos, Athen, Konstantinopel, Smyrna, Ephesos, Akkon, Jaffa, Jerusalem, Kairo, Luxor und Theben. Seine Reiseskizzen wurden umgesetzt von Carle Vernet, Fragonard, Isabey, Prevost und von Forbin selbst. ""Forbin's was one of the first important French books to use lithography on a grand scale and the standard of production is equal to that of Napoléon's ""Description de l'Egypte"" or Denon's ""Voyage"" (Blackmer)." - Etw. stockfleckig, vorwiegend in den Blatträndern. Somewhat foxing, plate 20 with repaired tear, partly waterstained.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
