"Ce paysage reste extrêmement rare dans la carrière de François-Auguste Ravier. En effet, il ne nous reste peu de traces de ses œuvres de jeunesse, forcément classiques dans la tradition des leçons apprises à Paris en cours du soir chez les paysagistes Caruelle d’Aligny, Jules Coignet dans les années 1834-1839, ou auprès de Corot dès 1839.
Nous situerions volontiers cette œuvre dans les tous débuts de la carrière du peintre, car elle offre tous les composants de la peinture exécutée en atelier d’après sans doute une pochade prise sur le vif.
Composition, lumière, contre-jour, soleil couchant, bosquet feuillu sur la gauche, et 2 arbres morts ébranchés se détachant dans la lumière du soir.
C’est en Italie que Ravier trouvera son style et la lumière, de 1840 à 1848 et ce tableau, garanti par le cachet d’atelier, reste unique dans son genre…"

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
