1) "Deutschland als Kolonialmacht", herausgegeben vom Kaiser-Wilhelm-Dank Verein der Soldatenfreunde, Berlin, 1914; 4°, 8 nn. Bll., 400 Seiten, 132 s/w Bildtafeln; gebunden, durchwegs leicht gebräunt, leicht berieben und bestoßen, mit kleinen Mängeln; vollständig, gutes Exemplar.
2) "Das Deutsche Kolonialreich" in 2 Bänden, herausgegeben von Prof. Dr. Hans Meyer im Verlag des Bibliographischen Instituts, Leipzig und Wien, 1909. 4°. Grüne Leinenbände mit Goldprägung, leicht berieben und bestoßen, sauber, kaum Gebrauchsspuren. Erster Band Ostafrika und Kamerun, 6 Tafeln Farbbilder, 33 Doppeltafeln mit s/w-Bildern, zahlreiche farbige Kartenbeilagen, 6 nn Bll., 650 SS., 2 nn Bll.; zweiter Band Togo, Südwestafrika, Schutzgebiete in der Südsee und Kiautschougebiet, 6 Tafeln Farbbilder, 33 Doppeltafeln mit s/w-Bildern, zahlreiche farbige Kartenbeilagen, 7 nn Bll., 576 SS.
3) 3 Bände aus der Reihe "Eine Reise durch die deutschen Kolonien", herausgegeben von der illustrierten Zeitung "Kolonie und Heimat" im Verlag Kolonialpolitischer Zeitschriften, Berlin, 1909. Alle Bände Quer-Folio im Ganzleineneinband. Erster Band "Deutsch-Ostafrika", 4 nn Bll., 128 SS., davon zahlreiche ganzseitige Bildtafeln, Einband fleckig, mit Kugelschreiber beschriftet "32", innen sauber; zweiter Band "Kamerun", Seiten I bis VII, 129 SS., davon zahlreiche ganzseitige Bildtafeln, Einband am Rücken unten auf 3cm eingerissen, mit Kugelschreiber beschriftet "31", innen sauber; fünfter Band "Südsee", Seiten I bis VII, 129 SS., davon zahlreiche ganzseitige Bildtafeln, Einband mit Kugelschreiber beschriftet "55", durch Feuchte Flecken am Einband und innen gering wellig, auf 6 Blatt oben im weißen Rand Einrisse , sonst innen sauber.

1) "Germany as a Colonial Power" (transl.), Berlin, 1914; 4°, 416 pages, 132 pages with b/w photographies, hardcover; moderate browning throughout, slightly bumped; complete, good copy.
2) "The German Colonial Empire" (transl.) in two volumes, by Prof. Dr. Hans Meyer, Leipzig/Vienna, 1909. 4°. Green cloth binding with gilded title, slightly rubbed and bumped, hardly any traces of wear. Volume one on East Africa and Cameroon, ca. 660 pages, 6 full-page chromo-lithographies, 66 pages with b/w photographies, many coloured maps; Volume two on Togo, South-West Africa, German Protectorates in the Pacific and the Kiautschou area. Circa 580 pages, 6 full-page chromo-lithographies, 66 pages with b/w photographies, many coloured maps.
3) Three volumes of the series "A Travel through the German Colonies", Berlin, 1909. All volumes in landscape folio, cloth bound. First volume "German-East-Africa" (transl.), ca. 136 pages, almost half of which b/w photographies. Cover marked with ball-point pen "32", clean copy, slightly bumped. Second volume "Cameroon" (transl.), ca. 136 pages, almost half of which b/w photographies.
The bottom of the back torn (ca. 30mm), cover marked with ball-point pen "31", clean copy. Fifth volume "The South Seas", circa 136 pages, almost half of which b/w photographies. Cover marked with ball-point pen "55", some moisture stains, 6 leaves at the end tears in the white top margin; clean copy.
All works proudly present the German Colonies and the benefits of colonization to the primitive natives, which are not treated with much respect. Some are even earmarked for extinction, as they are regarded as incapable of ever becoming civilized people, as can be seen in the text example on page 290 ("...evaluating the natives with regards to their cultural abilities, one race is to be excluded: the Bushman. The Bushman completely lacks any precondition for cultural development - organized and thoughtful planning for his being. .... Colonialists cannot count on such people; they may live as long as they do not do any damage. Where they did not meet this requirement, they were shot down like predators. The idea was taken into consideration to let the Buschman live in a reservation, as a relic from primeval times, such as animal species are kept from extinction. However, one cannot afford to let the required territory lie fallow, as its output will be required to keep the human species alive.")
