All works proudly present the German Colonies and the benefits of colonization to the primitive natives, which are not treated with much respect. Some are even earmarked for extinction, as they are regarded as incapable of ever becoming civilized people, as can be seen in the text example on page 290 ("...evaluating the natives with regards to their cultural abilities, one race is to be excluded: the Bushman. The Bushman completely lacks any precondition for cultural development - organized and thoughtful planning for his being. .... Colonialists cannot count on such people; they may live as long as they do not do any damage. Where they did not meet this requirement, they were shot down like predators. The idea was taken into consideration to let the Buschman live in a reservation, as a relic from primeval times, such as animal species are kept from extinction. However, one cannot afford to let the required territory lie fallow, as its output will be required to keep the human species alive.")
