Magnifique exemplaire en maroquin décoré de l'époque. Première et unique édition. Exemplaire de première émission : l'ouvrage fut remis en vente en 1829. Les deux tableaux synoptiques, repliés, présentent le genre Citrus de façon claire et originale. Passionné d'arboriculture qu'il pratiquait dans son domaine de la côte ligure, Giorgio Gallesio (1772-1839) est l'auteur de la Pomona italiana, chef-d'œuvre de l'illustration botanique. Il est en outre considéré comme le père de la génétique des agrumes. Il se livrait à la sélection des espèces et ses expériences furent saluées par Charles Darwin. Le traité renferme aussi une étude historique très documentée où il retrace les étapes de l'introduction des agrumes depuis l'Asie. Ex-dono autographe de l'auteur : “A Madame, Madame la Duchesse de Montmorency”, probablement adressé à Hortense de Montmorency (1774-1858), fille du duc de Luynes, qui avait épousé son cousin Mathieu, ministre des Affaires étrangères de Louis XVIII. À son retour d'exil, après la Révolution, elle s'établit au château de Courtalain, un ancien domaine familial dans le pays Dunois, à la limite du Perche. Orangers et citronniers agrémentaient le parc, abrités pendant l'hiver dans une orangerie, comme à Versailles. Reliure dans le goût de Simier : maroquin vert, large encadrement floral, doré et à froid, encadrant les plats, dos à nerfs orné, filet doré sur les coupes, dentelle intérieure, tranches dorées.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
