Lebensgroßes Kniestück, inspiriert durch die literarische "Mignon"-Figur aus Goethes Roman "Wilhelm Meisters Lehrjahre" von 1795/96. Dargestellt ist ein stehendes, italienisches Mädchen mit langem, brünettem Haar in schüchterner Pose, ein Tamburin in der rechten Hand haltend; bekleidet mit gemustertem, mehrfarbigem Rock, einem weißen, ärmellosem Hemd und einer hellblauen Weste; im Hintergrund eine hohe Mauer mit von einer Säule herabrankendem Efeu. Das Gemälde zählt zu den bedeutendsten und zugleich bekanntesten und populärsten Werken Georg Homs, der es 1880 erstmals in der Akademie der Künste ausstellte. In der Folgezeit wurde es bis um 1900 in einer Reihe von Stichen publiziert und auf Porzellan-Bildplatten nach dem Gemälde bzw. den Stichen rezipiert. Der Bildnismaler Georg Hom erhielt seine künstlerische Ausbildung an der Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main bei Jakob Becker. 1874 oder 1876 ging er nach Berlin, wo er auch Genrebilder zu malen begann, zuweilen mit Kerzenlichteffekten. 1876-1886 beschickte Hom die Akademie-Ausstellungen in Berlin, in den Jahren 1893-1898 mehrmals die Große Berliner Kunstausstellung. The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
